The weather here has been absolutely perfect the past few days. Living in the south, you learn to take in every moment you can of this not too hot, not too humid weather. Sunday was the first day since E got his new VW Beetle that we could enjoy riding with the top down.
[I forgot a ponytail holder.eek!]
Hopefully mother nature will provide us with a few more alluring days before fading into the humid, southern heat we all know too well.

Sunday we went to Stevi B's [a pizza buffett] to celebrate Eric's upcoming birthday. I made cupcakes to surprise E with. I got the recipe from my grandmother's cook book. This is the very first time in 29 years that I have made anything from scratch [all by myself.] They weren't up to par with how my grandma used to make them but not horrible for my first time ;) Watch out world, I'm baking now.

Losing My Edge- LCD Soundsystem
Sometimes I get in weird, funky moods and enjoy LCD Soundsystem. This one kills me every time. "I was the first guy playing Daft Punk to the rock kids." - favorite. line. ever. Running In Circles- POP ETC
Our apartment doesn't offer many opportunities for Joey to get out and do his favorite thing-running. We try to let him get out and exercise but he has to be on a leash when we go about and about in town. Thankfully, my mom lives on three acres and he has plenty of room to run when we visit. Thankfully, we have had some nice days and Joey has had a blast.

My blog officially became a year old and I had a big decision to make- Do I keep going on with it or do I give it up? I decided to take a few days off and that eventually that turned into nearly a month. I put a lot of thought into what I wanted to do. A few words from my very first blog post kept sticking out to me: "We decided to create this blog to share the adventures, both big and small, of our life together."
I hope the next year of the blog brings more consistency in posting and makes me more encouraged to take more pictures on adventures. I feel like a broken record saying that but if at first you don't succeed, try, try again...right?
Whew! Now that is out of the way...time for Sunday Sounds!
To All Of You- Syd Matters
A few weeks ago, I came home and Eric was super excited to share a new video game with me. He said I had to play it because he thought I'd really like it. My husband knows me well! For the rest of the evening we played Life Is Strange. I heard this song in the game and had to find out the name of it. [google to the rescue].
Today's blog serves as a sort of pep-talk to myself. Life is all about perspective. My shoulders are carrying their fair share of weight right now. As we all know: when it rains, it pours. I refuse to let that put me in a funk. I refuse to let it put my husband in a funk. We have too much good going on to focus on the bad. I get to come home to my soul mate everyday. We are alive. We both have jobs.We are both, for the most part, healthy. If you remind yourself that life isn't so bad it is a lot eaiser to be a positive person. So many people don't have the things that are taken for granted on a daily basis. We will take life's lemons and make the best damn lemonade ever.
This was the first song I heard from Frou Frou. I was in love. [I am still in love] To this day I am still bummed that this was a fling in music and not a lasting duo.
